About pdflove.it
pdflove.it is a free online toolkit for everyday PDF work: merging, splitting, compressing, converting, editing and protecting documents, with no account and nothing to install.
What you can do here
There are 27 tools, grouped by what you are trying to achieve:
- Organize — merge several files into one, split a document, remove or extract pages, rotate, reorder.
- Optimize — shrink a file so it fits an e-mail limit, or repair one that will not open.
- Convert — Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF; images to PDF; PDF to images, text, Markdown or PDF/A for archiving.
- Edit — page numbers, watermarks, cropping, OCR on scanned documents.
- Secure — add or remove a password, redact information, sign.
Why it is free
Every tool is unlocked. There is no premium tier, no trial, no daily quota to buy your way out of and no feature held back. The service is paid for by the advertising you see on the page. That choice has one visible consequence: the ads are there, and they keep the tools free.
How a conversion actually works
Your file is uploaded to our processing service, converted on our servers, and the result is sent back to your browser. Nothing runs on your computer and nothing is installed. The heavy lifting is done by well-known open-source engines, each used for what it does best:
- Ghostscript for compression and PDF/A archival output;
- LibreOffice for Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents;
- MuPDF / pypdf for structural work — merging, splitting, rotating, encrypting;
- ONNX Runtime for optical character recognition on scanned pages.
Because the conversion happens on the server, the tool is not something you can copy from the page source: what reaches your browser is the interface, not the engine.
Your files
Working copies are deleted automatically shortly after a conversion finishes, and the result is not kept once you have downloaded it. We do not read, index, share or sell your documents, and we do not use them to train anything. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
What we do not do
- No account, no e-mail address, no profile to create.
- No document content used for advertising or profiling.
- No “free trial” that turns into a subscription.
Who runs this site
pdflove.it is an independent project, designed, built and operated by its author in Italy. It is not backed by an advertising agency or a file-hosting company: it is a small, self-funded service, and the advertising is what keeps it alive.
