Stamp text or a logo over your pages — DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, a company name, a date — with control over opacity so it marks the document without hiding it.

What a watermark is for

A watermark states something about every page at once: that a document is a draft, that it is confidential, that it belongs to a client, that it must not be circulated. It is a declaration, not a security measure — anyone determined enough can remove or cover it, so pair it with a password when the content truly must not leak.

Opacity is the whole craft

A watermark at full strength makes a document unreadable and looks like a mistake. A light one reads as professional: visible enough to be noticed, transparent enough that the text underneath stays legible on screen and on paper. If a scan is already dark, keep it even lighter.

Diagonal, centred, or tiled

A single diagonal word across the page is the familiar choice. Tiling repeats the mark so partial screenshots still carry it — useful when the risk is someone cropping a corner of your document and posting that.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use an image as the watermark?

Yes — a logo or stamp image can be placed the same way as text.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Run the tool on the selection you need, or apply it to all pages when the mark applies to the whole document.

Does a watermark protect the document?

No. It is a visual declaration. Use the Protect tool for actual encryption.
